Job Title: Part-Time Construction Inspector




Office: Remote Work – Report to Job Site & Work from Home


Summary: Under remote supervision of the Construction Division Manager, and according to established company policies and procedures, a Part-Time Construction Inspector (PTCI) provides full Construction Administrative services for client projects that may include, but is not limited to, roadway construction improvements, building/vertical construction (not as typical), urban development, park enhancements, public works projects, & sewer construction. PTCI’s will typically manage a small project, or two, per season and generally are seasoned veterans who have retired from full time employment, and are looking to stay in the work force, but in a more limited role. PTCI is responsible for assuring that all local, state and federal inspections, testing & requirements are being met during construction and to assure that the project files are complete, accurate, and available for review upon request.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: “Essential” are primary job duties that an individual must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer. 

  • Able to read and interpret Construction Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Knowledgeable to enforce contract specifications, contract drawings and special provisions. Keep Daily Diary of all work related activities and Field Payment Books.
  • Able to plan, coordinate and lead meetings with multiple stakeholders to include, but not limited to, the contractor, subcontractors, residents,      political representatives, design leads, local and government officials, etc.
  • Unless waived, maintain (or obtain) current materials certification in the following areas:
    • ACI or MoDOT Concrete Field Testing 
    • ACI or MoDOT Concrete Strength Testing
  • Be able to traverse active construction sites on foot for long distances, measuring, recording or field verifying installed construction items due for contractor payment.
  • Be able to lift 50lbs of roadway material in a 5 gallon bucket and carry it from roadway to truck.
  • Manage contract administration on assigned jobs to include, but not limited to, approving contractor payment applications, preparing change orders, coordinating contract start up, as well as final contract paperwork for close out, invoicing clients for time worked on projects.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervisor with weekly project updates
  • Be available to meet with clients after hours, as needed, for business development purposes
  • Attend evening stakeholders meetings, as      needed, for projects under your supervision.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following: 


  • Flexible in working with different project      managers, contractors, inspectors, or designated staff to assist in completion of projects. 
  • Desirable to have either MoDOT, or St Louis      County DOT experience.
  • Desirable to know AASHTOWear Program.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate and      comprehend instructions. 
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by      enforcing procedures, rules and regulations; following company policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to      carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 
  • Possess attention to detail, ability to balance      multiple projects and have strong time management skills. 
  • Ability to work overtime as needed. 


Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Required). Associates degree or B.S. in Construction      Management or Civil Engineering a nice bonus. 
  • 10-20+ years of direct, or comparable, field experience is required. 


Compensation Package 

  • PTCI’s are hourly paid employees with hourly rates dependent on experience but will typically range from $25/Hour to $50/Hour
  • Health, Dental, & Life Insurance are typically not included with PTCI positions, but exceptions may      be made if needed. Just ask!
  • Either company vehicle provided, or mileage reimbursement for your personal vehicle usage. We are flexible.

Job Title: Construction Inspector (CI), Intermediate Construction Inspector (ICI), or Senior Construction Inspector (SCI)


Office: Remote – Report to Job Site & Work from Home



Summary: Under remote supervision of the Construction Division Manager, and according to established company policies and procedures, a Construction, Intermediate, or Senior Inspector provides full Construction Administrative services for client projects that may include, but is not limited to, roadway construction improvements, building/vertical construction (not as typical), urban development, park enhancements, public works projects, & sewer construction. CI’s will typically manage projects in the 0 – 5 Million dollar range, ICI’s manage projects in the 0 – 10 Million dollar range, and SCI’s manage projects of all sizes. All 3 job classifications are responsible for assuring that all local, state and federal inspections, testing & requirements are being met during construction and to assure that the project files are complete, accurate, and available for review upon request.

  • Construction Inspector Salary Range is Typically ($60,000 – $80,000)
  • Intermediate Construction Inspector Salary Range is Typically ($70,000 – $90,000)
  • Senior Construction Inspector Salary Range is Typically ($80,000 – $100,000)

Job Title: Construction Technician (Full or Part-Time)


Office: Remote – Report to Job Site & Work from Home



Summary: Under direct supervision of the Construction Division Manager, and according to established policies and procedures, a Construction Technician II (CT) provides construction administrative services and material testing for client projects that may include, but are not limited to, roadway construction improvements, urban development, park enhancements, public works projects, & sewer construction. These projects will typically range in contracted values of 500,000 to 2 Million dollars. CT is responsible for understanding the requirements for local, state and federal inspections, testing & reporting needs, and assuring they are being met during construction. It is also expected that a CT is fully capable to assure that the project files are complete, accurate, and available for review upon request.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: “Essential” are primary job duties that an individual must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer. 

  • Possess and maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Able to read and interpret Construction Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents.
  • Knowledgeable to enforce contract specifications, contract drawings and special provisions. 
  • Maintain current materials certification in the following areas:
    • ACI Concrete Field Testing 
    • ACI Concrete Strength Testing
  • Be able to traverse active construction sites on foot for long distances, measuring, recording or field verifying installed construction items due contractor payment.
  • Be able to lift 50lbs of roadway material in a 5 gallon bucket and carry it from roadway to truck.
  • Manage contract administration on assigned jobs to include, but not limited to, reviewing contractor payment applications for completeness, assisting with change orders, coordinating contract start up, as well as final contract paperwork for close out, assisting with client invoicing. 


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervisor with weekly project updates
  • Be available to meet with clients after hours, as needed, for business development purposes
  • Attend evening stakeholders meetings, as      needed, for projects under your supervision


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Required: 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following abilities:


  • Must be flexible in working with numerous      different project managers, teams or designated staff to assist in completion of multiple projects. 
  • Actively increasing basic technical knowledge and skills through completion of both formal and informal training. 
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in strict confidence. Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others. 
  • Must have the ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend instructions. Ability to compose correspondence and memos using correct grammar and spelling. Ability to read, understand and communicate information effectively. 
  • Must maintain safe and clean working      environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations; following companywide policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to      carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized      situations.  Ability to apply logic and reasoning to ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects and have strong time management skills. 
  • Ability to work overtime as needed. 
  • Ability to travel if necessary.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision to see the computer screen; speech to communicate with others and manual dexterity for typing on computer keyboard.
